Qondio Intel SEO

Qondio Intels are a little different to use for link building than Squidoo Lens and Hubpages Hubs, but used correctly you can get a front page PR 7 link to help get a new site indexed and long term PR 5 links to your sites.

Qondio Signup fee

Lets start this off with one of the things that a few people have been complaining about. Qondio requires a $5.00 payment in order to sign up. Because of this a couple webmasters are calling Qondio a scam on thier blogs.

Gasp!! A whole $5. Yes it is true. I'm an old member and didn't have to pay the fee. I can also say that way back before the fee was required and the site name was Qassia, they had a fund drive for new servers and I chose to donate because I thought the site was worth it.

So, would I pay the $5 fee if I was just starting up now. Yes, with out a hesitation. The traffic boost that I can attribute to this site is well worth the small start up fee.

Listing your sites

First thing you do is list your site or sites. After creating an account and logging in, go to the dashboard and click on “add sites”. You can deep link to pages of your own sites or to other pages like Squidoo lenses. It’s important that you have at least one of your own sites in this list, I’ll tell you why later.

Part of the site addition is the need to confirm that you own the page you’re adding. They will give you a small piece of code that you need to add somewhere in the HTML of your page. You then click a button in your dashboard and they’ll confirm the code is there. You can now remove the code. If you are wanting to link to a Squidoo Lens or Hubpage Hub open up one of your modules and add the code in the HTML of the module.

Now, move your way down to the profile area and choose a signature link. This link is the one that will show on the front page (and many other “Signature link” locations and get that coveted PR 7 link, however only the domain name will be linked to, not a deeper page. Don’t use a Squidoo or other similar pages for your signature it will not bring you any benefit.

Front page links

There are several ways to get a link from Qondios front page. While it is easy to get a link there, it’s a little more difficult to keep it there so you can’t really count on it being permanent unless you work on Qondio pretty much every day.

Screening intels is the key to getting a PR 7 link to your own site. There are two sections, Active screeners and Top screeners. To get the link all you need to do is screen an intel. A few seconds later your link shows up, Cool Huh! The problem is this won’t last long. Likely in the next hour or two there will be enough screeners that you will be moved off the list. If you are very frequently screening you will move into the Top Screeners category. By your continued screening you can stay on this list and have a permanent PR 7 link. But that’s a lot of work.

The best way to get that PR 7 link is by submitting very good quality intels. An intel that gets higher than three stars gets listed in the “Intel” list on the front page. This gives you a link to your profile, your new intel and then of course your own website (the signature link). To remain there, you need to be pumping out great intel every couple days, but this can give you a permanent link if you keep working at it. You need to make sure your link is on the front page at least a few days to make sure it is seen by the search engines.

Other High PR links

For each intel you submit you get a link on the intel page to your site. To get PR on the page you need to do a little link promotion for the page just as you would a Squidoo Lens or a Hubpage Hub. But the real jewel is the Qascade links. Qascade is like a directory of the websites with the most points and the best intels for a particular tag. While adding your website in your Dashboard be sure that some of the tags you use are among the “Qascade Top 50” these will get the highest PR (right now PR 5). The Top 50 will also be the most competitive and will take the most points to remain there. Also choose some second level tags (currently no PR, but this system is new, they will likely go to at least PR 3-4).

Always add your intel to a country. Intels are now showing on these pages by country and give a strong link (currently PR5) to your intel, your profile and your signature link. Intels will show in both the county and the global pages of Qondio.

Point System

Qondio uses a point system. Screening intels, rating intels and publishing intels gets you points. The better your intel is the higher the points you get. You then apply these points to your websites. You need to have at least 1000 points applied to a website to have the link to your site “Dofollow” in the Qascade section although the links are always dofollow in the “PLEASE VISIT THE CONTRIBUTOR'S WEBSITE” part of your intels. You also use these points to compete for the higher slots on the Qascade pages. Qascade only gets updated once a week, so don’t expect changes you make to the points to affect where you’re site is located right away.

Making money on Qondio

Qondio’s ad sharing is also a little different. They use a system called AdQore to feed the ads. You can put the code from AdSense, ClickBank, LinkShare, AdBrite, FairAdsNetwork or pretty much any other ad network. You can also use your own ad banners and have them fed into these slots. Ads are added onto the page using your own registration codes from the ad system of choice. You then track the ads progress through the ad companies tracking software.

Strengthening your Profile page

Your profile page is another area where you get links. We recommend you find ways to get a few links from other sites to your profile page to help it gain some PR. There are also several ways to get internal links from Qondio to boost the page’s PR.

• When reading intels you will find a “reaction” drop down box. Leaving a reaction gives you a DoFollow link.
• Comment links (on the intel pages) are NoFollow but can be worth doing to build you’re networking within Qondio.
• Following people gives a Dofollow link (found on the persons profile page)
• Notes on the profile page are NoFollow but help with your networking.
• GreetBoxes on the profile page are DoFollow
• The GreetBox on the front page of the site is Dofollow

Qondio Countries

To help boost your intels strength you should always add a country when submitting an intel. This allows the intel to be displayed on one of the strong country pages in addition to the Global areas. Qondio lists (at the time of this writting) 5 countries on the front page, but they really have far more countries you can choose from. Stronger countries are harder to stay on the top of the list on, weaker countries don't have as high of PR.

One of the major drawbacks of Qondio is the lack of stats. To find out how your intels are doing you have to track the impressions from one of your ads. Qondio also uses a lot of NoFollow tags, so before putting too much energy into a particular usage check to see if the links are going to be NoFollow.
