Submitting your website to the search engines so that they will visit your website and record information to be used in searches. Generally this is no longer necessary. Most search engines still allow manual submission, but it often takes months for the search engine to finally visit your site. Search engines link Google, Yahoo, MSN and other are constantly looking for new sites to visit. The best way to have them find and “spider” your site is by generating links to your site from established sites. There are many methods of doing this including ways that the search engine view as unethical, it is important that the website owner know what these “Black Hat” or unethical practices are and avoid them
Obtaining links to a new website too quickly may make the search engines think you are spamming the search engine. Google’s patent states that natural links area added slowly and consistently to a website. This is the pattern you will want to follow when adding links to your site.
