Keywords are used to optimize a webpage for the search engines. Your choice of keywords to be used on a webpage will be determined by a number of factors including:
- Relevance to the webpage. Don’t choose keywords to try to fool the search engines, be sure that your keywords fit the content of your webpage. Remember that the bottom line is you want the reader to view your content as useful.
- Frequently used in searches: Choose keywords that prospective clients are using when they search for your product or services.
Normally only 2-5 keywords are used per webpage. These words need to be incorporated into the title of the page, used in headings and bolded, used in the alt tags 2-3 times. They should be used several times and notably in the first and last paragraphs of the page.
